At OPEX Gatwick, we are conscious about our impact on the planet, and thus we are aiming to be carbon neutral by 2023.
We have started our journey towards this by replacing all lighting within the premises with low energy LED lighting, the recent installation of a new low energy heating and hot water system and a goal to recycle 85% of our waster wherever possible. All paper items such as hand towels and toilet rolls are from recycled source and wherever possible we try to run a paperless business.
Alongside this, we believe in the community outside the gym, as well as inside, so we have partnered up with local businesses to find ways to compliment the OPEX approach to life. We will look to continuously review and add to these as we go, and will be sure to keep you up to date. If you are a local business and think we share in our approach to life, please reach out through the contact form below. We look forward to hearing from you!
We have partnered with the masters at Lindfield Coffee Works to bring you OPEX coffee.
Lindfield Coffee Works have been working with their exporting partner to connect with a handful of producers based in San Roque, Antioquia, Colombia, who have good practices and methods to produce high quality and sustainable coffee. This relationship benefits the economic position of the farmers and allows them access to fully traceable, great tasting coffee.
They’ve always been proud to work with their import partners who do invaluable work at the source (social and economic) and allow them to select a wide range of coffees from a variety of origins, farms and co-operatives all year round. The farmers also benefit from the buying power of these companies as they are able to sell their whole yield, not just small amounts each time .
The coffee can be found in the common room and is free to use! You can also purchase a bag in the gym if you want to also have this at home.
